How Peter Jackson FOOLED an Entire Country
Before The Lord of the Rings Peter Jackson made Forgotten Silver - a documentary about long-lost New Zealand film-maker Colin Mackenzie. Unlike Peter Jackson’s Beatles and war documentaries, when Forgotten Silver aired in New Zealand in 1995, it triggered a national outrage. This video essay looks at this key part of Peter Jackson’s filmography from before The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, King Kong and Bad Taste, that has mostly been forgotten.

The charge of the Rohirrim at the battle of Pellenor Fields is one of the scenes in the movies I hate the most. They used CGI to make the Rohirim army too large, which in my mind removes much of the heroism of the scene. I don't recall what the book says, but the army should be in the low thousands, not the massive horde from the film. :( This does not subtract from the rest of the Rohirrim scenes. It is just that shot of the army from a distance - every close-up scene is great, including at that battle.

It's not good for the brain to put false information in there, as the whole brain has to rewire itself when you find out the truth, and rewiring the brain is similar to the Butterfly effect, it has a knock on effect throughout your entire memory structure. This creates an angry emotion which is a part of the brain's protection. Liars brains are full of misinformation so that they think this is funny, because their brain protection is not very good.

I can't see how people were fooled. If I only saw the film and was told it was real, I would question it. It's clear it's not from 1910's/1920's, but I would of believed it to be from the '60's or '70's.

A horrible bond flick… no gravity… sheer decadent erosion of what always was . a comic medium. Here… it reached its apex, where it’s being reviewed as a genuine conveyor of ‘brilliant’ filmmaking. I suspect the reviewer would find deep and emotive substance lining a Daffy Duck toon, especially if Wile E. Coyote earnestly was repentant as he plummeted down into the yawning canyon. Geez.

You must be kidding me. Roger Moore is the worst James Bond. Moore was not a good actor. His posture was stiff at best, and his character deliverance was cartoony. What Moore was doing was The Saint playing James Bond. Broccoli and company are just as moronic by giving the audiences an anime bizarre action film that is so far from reality it is unbelievable. Moore doesn't get dirty in any of the Bond films he did. The Moore Bond and Broccoli production should go down as what not to do in a movie. It took three more actors, Pierce Bronson, to give us some reality to the character, and then finally, Daniel Craig got down and dirty and made it more real and believable. You are nuts!

Amazing people are so upset the Peter Jackson fooled all of New Zealand, when the US has been virtually totally fine about having been fooled by the CIA and American Government and Edward Snowden revealed. Still Edward Snowden has to escape and move to Russia before Russia invaded Ukraine....so there is that 😳 But Edward Snowden was EXPOSING a DELIBERATE FOOLING by the CIA and American Government and was punished for it. Peter Jackson was accidentally doing the fooling and people is angry about it.... The fooling of the American public worked so well that even when the fooling was exposed, they still kept being fooled and punished the one exposing the truth, instead of the ones doing the fooling. Amazing how much of a difference there can be between people of New Zealand and the US. If you had lived in America Peter Jackson they would have made statues of you and would have tried to execute whoever tried to expose the hoax.😆
